Joining The Griff Investment Fund

Open Meeting

We begin our yearly recruitment cycle with an open meeting, where students interested in joining the fund as analysts can meet our current Executive Committee, Sector Heads and Analysts to ask any questions they may have. Our Chief Investment Officer and Chief Risk Officer will present a mock stock pitch and macro update, to show prospective Analysts what a typical meeting entails.

Join us in-person at 6pm on 28th September 2023 for the 2023/24 open meeting.

Analyst Applications Are Now Closed

Students from any degree discipline are eligible to join us. We assume that our joiners have no prior knowledge - we value enthusiasm and an intellectual curiosity about the world of finance and/or investing. Applicants will need to fill in a form with their CV highlighting their academic and professional background as well as answer some motivation-based questions highlighting why they’re interested in joining the fund.

Applications for 2023 intake are now closed. We will re-open applications in 2024.

The Interview

Upon a successful application stage, you will be invited to an interview with 2 or more members of the executive committee. As part of the interview, candidates are asked to prepare a stock pitch on a company of their choice based on the fund’s pitch template provided. Alongside this, a few more competency-based questions will be asked and candidates will have an opportunity to ask any questions regarding the fund.

All first-year students are guaranteed an interview with us.

Congratulations!

A select number of candidates will pass the interview, after which they will be invited to join the fund. Upon successful admission, all new analysts will be invited to our compulsory training weekend where we give you a foundation in stock valuation, technical analysis and pitch technique from experienced analysts in the fund as well as Keith Anderson from the York Management School.
